Premier League Transfer Rumours: Mahrez, Aubameyang, Candreva and More

ds

  • We're less than two weeks away from the start of the new Premier League season, and while Manchester United's pursuit of Paul Pogba continues to drag on, the rest of England's top flight clubs are trying to get their houses in order.

Here's the best of the rumours from around the top flight this Tuesday.

    11. Crystal Palace Lead Real Madrid in Race to Sign French Star

Portugal v France - Final: UEFA Euro 2016

We'll kick off with one of the more, well, glamorous (?) rumours of the day.

Moussa Sissoko's stock has risen significantly since his exploits for France at Euro 2016. He's sure to make current club Newcastle United a fair wad of cash if and when he does end up leaving this summer, and thus far it's been expected he'll join a European heavyweight.

Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool have all been mentioned, but Real Madrid had looked in prime position to get him. However, Le10Sport report that Crystal Palace are in the box seat to bring him in as it stands and that they're the ones pressing hardest to get him.

Newcastle want at least £35m for the 26-year-old...

    10. Stoke City Line Up £12m Bid for Greek International Defender

SC Verl v Bayer Leverkusen - Friendly Match
Stoke City are looking to bring in Bayer Leverkusen hard man Kyriakos Papadopoulos ahead of the new season, in order to bolster their defensive options.

The Mirror claim the 24-year-old is one of Mark Hughes' top targets for the new campaign, and that he's being eyed up as competition for the likes of Marc Muniesa and Philipp Wollscheid.

    9. West Ham Make Improved Offer to Sign Norwich Full Back

    Italy v Sweden - Group E: UEFA Euro 2016

Championship club Norwich City have already turned down a £3m offer from West Ham for full back Martin Olsson, but the Hammers are reported to have made an improved offer for the Swede.

Slaven Bilic is seeking cover for the injured Aaron Cresswell at left back, and names such as Andrew Robertson, Cameron-Borthwick Jackson and Kieran Gibbs have been mentioned as potential targets. The Mail however claim that the club are determined to land Olsson with their new £4m bid, even while it sits £1m shy of Norwich's valuation.

In the forward department, West Ham could move to sign Mario Gomez if they're unable to persuade Carlos Bacca to join them.

    8. Everton Looking to Lure Euro 2016-Winning Midfielder to Goodison Park

Everton's search for a new midfielder has taken them towards Portugal's Euro 2016-winning star Adrien Silva, according to Portuguese newspaper Record.

Silva played a big part in his nation's victory in France, and Toffees boss Ronald Koeman has taken notice. The report claims that Everton - who are now backed by the funding from Farhad Moshiri - are willing to part with as much as £21m for the 27-year-old.

Regarding possible outgoings however, the club may have difficulty holding onto Romelu Lukaku.

    7. Sunderland Ready to Raid Premier League Newcomers for £30m-Rated Forward

    Bradford City v Burnley - Pre-Season Friendly

Yeah, I know, the transfer market is crazy.

According to reports from the Daily Mail, Sunderland are looking to land a goal-hungry forward in the shape of Burnley star Andre Gray. However, the trouble is that the Premier League newcomers want £30m for their star hitman.

Gray struck a stunning 23 goals last season as Burnley were promoted to the Premier League, but their monstrous asking price has been put up as 20% of any future fee will be due to former club Brentford because of a sell-on clause.

    6. Leeds Reject Transfer Request From Defender Amid Premier League Interest

Cardiff City v Leeds United - Sky Bet Championship

Leeds United full back Charlie Taylor is so desperate to secure a move to a Premier League club that he's handed in a transfer request in the wake of reported interest, but the Yorkshire Evening Post reports that the club have turned it down.

Burnley, West Ham and West Brom have all been linked with the player, though Middlesbrough were reported to be at the head of the queue to bring the 26-year-old in.

The Championship side have released a statement on the matter, which read: “Further to recent speculation regarding Charlie Taylor, the club can confirm that a transfer request from Charlie was received over the weekend.

“Garry Monk and club president Massimo Cellino agreed at the start of the transfer window that Charlie would not be sold and therefore the transfer request has been formally rejected."

    5. Manchester United and Tottenham Battle to Sign Experienced Former Premier League Midfielder

Manchester United's endless pursuit of Paul Pogba is driving everybody a tad crazy. But there's another French midfielder on their radar now - at least according to reports in Spain - in the shape of Lassana Diarra.

The former Arsenal and Chelsea man is also being lined up by Tottenham, the story claims, even though Valencia and Galatasaray are furthest along in negotiations.

Diarra is said to favour a move to Spain due to the political unrest in Turkey, though both English sides could move to equal or better Valencia's £3m-a-season offer.

    4. Serie A Newcomers Become Latest Team to Withdraw Mario Balotelli Interest

Atalanta BC v AC Milan - Serie A

Italian Serie A newcomers Pescara have become the latest team to withdraw their interest in Liverpool flop Mario Balotelli, according to the club's president.

Besiktas confirmed earlier this week that they weren't in the market for the forward, and now Daniele Sebastiani has told Mediaset television that neither his side, nor Crotone, will be ending his Liverpool nightmare.

He said: "I know that his is the name that would get the most attention. [But] Mario is a great player and I think that the last thing he would do would be to come and play at Pescara or Crotone.

"We don't need to buy figurines just to make somebody happy. We're working behind the scenes on finding players with the right profile for Pescara. We're running our own transfer market and if we want to do anything, we need to be patient."

    3. Chelsea Set to Miss Out as Inter Secure Deal to Sign Italian Winger

    Italy v Sweden - Group E: UEFA Euro 2016

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has been dealt a blow after it was reported that Inter Milan have agreed a £17.75m fee to sign long-term target Antonio Candreva from Lazio.

The 29-year-old is known well by Conte from his time with the Italian national team, and the new Blues boss was reported to be eyeing him up for a role down one of Chelsea's flanks next season.

However, Gazzetta dello Sport claim he will put the finishing touches on a move to Inter later this week, and that he's requested the number 87 shirt in the legendary blue and black.

    2. Inter Plot Ambitious Swoop for Manchester City Strike Target Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Wuppertaler SV v Borussia Dortmund - Friendly Match

Gazzetta, and Inter, for that matter, don't stop there though. And this story could have implications on Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund...

The report claims that should Arsenal close the signing of Inter forward Mauro Icardi this summer, that Inter will move full-steam-ahead to attempt to lure Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang back to Italy. Manchester City were previously reported to be close to signing the Gabon star.

Auba, however, has professed that the only club he'd like to leave Dortmund for is Real Madrid though. So make your own minds up on this one.

    1. Leicester City Star Reportedly Agrees to Arsenal Switch

Chelsea v Leicester City - Premier League

And finally, reports from Riyad Mahrez's home nation of Algeria claim that the Leicester City man has finally agreed to join Arsenal.

Newspaper Le Buteur report that Arsene Wenger has met with the player and his agent, and that a potential deal between the player and new club has been thrashed out in the process. Leicester however have not agreed any fee with their Premier League rivals.

It's been one of the longest sagas of the summer, and could go on for a while longer yet. Oh, and there's another story that just won't end when it comes to the Gunners, either...
