EFCC has arrested five undergraduates for online scam to the tune of
N16 million, recovering cars, laptops and phones during the arrest.
Five undergraduates have been arrested by the EFCC, Ibadan Zonal Office, as suspects in an alleged N12 million online fraud.
Four
of the young men are reportedly undergraduates from the Federal
University of Technology Akure, (FUTA) and 1 from Adekunle Ajashin
University, Akungba.
EFCC disclosed that the
suspects who go about with the name, "Tsunnami Gang and Young Pablo
Money", are between the ages of 20 and 23.
The suspects have been identified as Adeleke Paul, 21, Adebiyi Tayo Abudu, 22, Akinsanmi Olusola Adeniyi, 21, Ogundile Ademola James, 23 and Okali Ugochukwu, 21.
The
suspects were reportedly were picked up at an Off-Campus residence
located at Stateline Hotel Road, off FUTA South Gate, Akure, Ondo State.
They are alleged to have scammed foreigners and others of about N16 million in recent times through the use of scam mails.
At
the point of the arrest, the EFCC operatives reportedly recovered a
2006 black Toyota Highlander, 2010 light-green Toyota Camry, laptops,
three Apple iPhone 6 and three Blackberry phones from the suspects.
Documents which further implicated the suspects were reportedly found on the laptops and downloaded as evidence.
By the end of the investigation which is still ongoing, they are to be arraigned before the court.
