New Bayern Munich manager Carlo Ancelotti has eased the transfer
speculation surrounding star striker Robert Lewandowski after publicly
stating that he will remain at the Allianz Arena.
ESPN quote Carlo Ancelotti's interview with German outlet Bild when reporting that Bayern will not allow one of the best attackers in the world to depart as they look to win their fifth consecutive Bundesliga title.
It is reported that Ancelotti's former club Real Madrid were interested in bringing the Polish striker to the Bernabeu, but the Italian has since quashed those rumours.
Bayern's CEO Karl-Heinze Rummenigge quickly reinforced that the striker would not be going anywhere, with Ancelotti now echoing that view.
"Lewandowski will stay here because he's one of the best attackers in the world. It's as simple as that."
During his time at Bayern, Lewandowski has netted a further 47 times in just 63 games for the club and still has three-years to run on his current contract.
"They have a lot of fantastic players, for instance Karim Benzema, Gareth Bale or Cristiano Ronaldo.
"Real don't need Lewandowski on top and, even if they did, Bayern won't sell Lewandowski. Why should we voluntarily give away one of the best attackers in the world?" he added.

successful seasons in Germany's top flight.

games for Borussia Dortmund over a four-year period, including a
sensational quadruple in a Champions League semi-final with Real Madrid.
During his time at Bayern, Lewandowski has netted a further 47 times in just 63 games for the club and still has three-years to run on his current contract.
The striker bettered his four goals for Dortmund by netting five times in just nine minutes in a clash with Wolfsburg in 2015.
With
Lewandowski capable of breaking such records, it is conceivable that he
could walk into any starting eleven in the world, however former Madrid
boss Ancelotti believes Los Blancos do not need him.
