The figures published by Forbes follow the end of a sensational season on the football pitch for the Real Madrid Galactico.
Having
converted the winning penalty in Real Madrid's Champions League success
over neighbours Atletico, Ronaldo led Portugal to glory at this
summer's Euro 2016 in France.
Ronaldo and Portugal's success in France will go down in history as they clinched their first trophy at a major tournament.
With
the 31-year-old seemingly one of the favourites to win this year's
Balon d'Or, this latest news only adds to an incredible year for the
Portuguese.
The figures show that roughly £41.5m of Ronaldo's wealth comes from his annual summary with Real Madrid, while the rest comes from high-profile sponsorship.
Ronaldo has commercial ties with worldwide brands including Nike and watchmakers Tag Heuer.
The former Manchester United player's total earnings therefore see him tied fourth on Forbes' annual rich list.
His
earnings do, however, see him named as the top earning sports person in
the world. Arch rival Lionel Messi of Barcelona follows 'CR7' as the
second best paid sports person with a total wealth of £61.3m. Messi
follows Ronaldo in eighth place in the overall celebrity list.
With his contract at the Bernabeu set to run until 2018, Ronaldo's earnings in the coming years will only increase. After rising from 10th place in the 2015 list, Ronaldo is set to continue his rise amongst the world's wealthiest.
